Dior Cruise Collection : All Aboard

We’ve all seen extreme when it comes to catwalk shows in the couture world but this season Raf has taken it to the next level. The cruise collection came with Sailors and branded ferries, or as I like to call it The Dior Water Taxi.  I know what your thinking, Dior in Brooklyn… in May?

At the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Dior hosted their 2015 Cruise Collection and you could travel their by car but under recommendation by Dior the best way to get there would be on their free ferry ride displaying the Couture Houses name and free champs.

It is becoming a new trend for the bigger houses to host their resort shows in different cities. Chanel will be showing in Dubai and Louis Vuitton at the Prince ‘s Palace of Monaco. For Dior, this year was their biggest resort show yet, not only with attendance but also showing 66 looks. And this years resort collection was extravagant! Floral and abstract prints, some which were found within the old Dior archives and others newly created, “I wanted to explore print without being too romantic about it,” Raf said. “I was surprised by how raw and artistic some of the archival scarves were.”  Ultra high waist, long trousers, and flared skirts creating stunning feminine silhouettes.

All aboard for the journey to Brooklyn Navy Yard upon this yellow ferry taxi embellished with the Dior label inside and out (including grey attired sailors.)
